Well I got a response from them. They said to post the request here. Judging by the age of this thread, I assume this fix will never be implemented.

I sent them an email about this before seeing your post. yes it takes up half of my screen as well. need to go!

the release notes section takes up half the dashboard. any way to make it collapsible? i dont care much about seeing release notes. especiallywhen the last one was over 3 months ago
