Question: When I look at the year to date driver pay on the driver settlement and generate the tax report for the year, the driver pay amounts are different. Why is this?
Answer: There are a couple reasons why the driver pay numbers could be different. Here are two scenarios that could be causing this:
Scenario 1: With the driver settlements, the driver pay is calculated based on the PAID ON date, whereas the tax report is generated based on the DELIVERY date of the trip. So, for example, if the driver delivered a load on 12/30/2023 and the driver settlement paid on date is 1/2/2024, the pay will be included on 2024's year to date calculations on the driver settlement, but it will be on the 2023 pay on the tax report.
Scenario 2: If there are missing trips that have not been created as a driver settlement, they will not appear on the driver settlement year to date. They will appear on the tax report.
Another thing to note is that any deductions that you add to the driver settlement do not transfer to any other reports.
