Profit/Loss per Trip is Skewed by Deadhead miles
When the program calculates the profit loss per trip. It does not count miles rolling empty or dead head miles. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN and a reason to leave this program.
The system needs a new algorithm because even if you are empty and "deadheading" between loads you still pay for expenses between trips such as fuel and reefer and driver pay.
Let me try and explain mathematically what's happening.
Trip is 635 Miles Loaded, 193 Deadhead or empty, Total Miles 828miles
Load pays $2750.00, the program determined my profit per mile total is $4.33 per mile, ($2750/635 miles (miles loaded)), when in reality the load only pays ($2750.00/828miles), $3.32 per mile. This is a SERIOUS issue because taxes and profit loss and reporting appropriate numbers is crucial in this business. Also if my profit per mile is a $1 off that really messes with my accounting.
