Mileage Rate - PC Miler vs Reality (Edit)
TO is calculating the miles on the load I'm on to be 1304. The paid miles by the broker are 1211. I saw no way to manually enter loaded or empty miles.
Edit -----------------------
Along with this and the new driver pay-per-mile, there needs to be a way to keep the actual paid/empty miles separate from the driver's paid/empty miles. While a broker may only pay me HHMG miles of 1211, I may want to pay the driver based on 1304 PC Miler miles. (Don't you wish every trucking company thought like that???)
Reality is, very few companies, shippers or brokers pay based on PC Miler. Many still use the Household Mover's Guide which is almost consistently 10% shorter.

I guess they never considered google. lol

PC* Miler is used by most of the load boards and is used in most IFTA audits. All of the variations that you are talking about can be handled with manual driver pay and flat fees on invoices.

I pay the drivers by the Truckingoffice miles, but I saw I am loosing money for doing so, From Perham, MN to Phoenix, AZ Google map is showing 1686 miles and Trucking office paid the driver 1847 miles, that is 161 miles more!!! is there way that we can edit miles showing on the trip report? thanks

My drivers has to receive a Trip report each time I dispatch them and there is no way around that and use Google. I don't mind paying the driver what they drove, but my point is Trucking Office is showing more miles than Google and I am asking if there is a way to edit the Trip Report to so I can be parallel with Google?

My problem is I am trying to match what the company is paying me in miles. I can edit the miles but the total pay for miles does not change from what pc miler shows. We should be able to edit plus or minus miles and the figures should change automatically.

Hi Mark,
Great news! We recently ran an update to accommodate this. Currently once you save your dispatch/trip information you are able to edit the state miles. Once you edit and save these miles it will update the pay for the driver if they are pay per mile. If you have any further questions, concerns, or feedback let us know! Thanks!

Hello Jackie,
We use PC Miler's best practical route to calculate the Miles. There are two ways to edit the miles. First, if the truck went a different way than what PC Miler shows, there's a section toward the bottom of the dispatch page if you edit the trip that says "Add a Routing Stop." You can add a routing stop to the location that the truck actually went and it will reroute the trip for you. If it helps, you can also click View on the trip and at the top of the page, you will see a button that says Map. You can view the map to see the way PC Miler routed it-that way you can easily see where to add the routing stop to change the route.
The second way is to manually edit the miles. To do this, you would click on Dispatches at the top, then click View on the dispatch, then you will see a button at the top that says Edit Miles. You can add/subtract miles from each state listed.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions or need any assistance, please feel free to give us a call at 1(800)253-9647. We are in the office Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM eastern time. We appreciate your business and hope you have a great day!! :)
